If you are named in a document
This page is for people who do not use ART EVIDENCE but whose name or details appear in documents that users upload: for example owners, sellers, intermediaries, signatories of certificates or invoices.
Who we are
Clesidra Ltd, company registered in England and Wales no. 06844555, registered office c/o Brian Paul Limited, 159a Chase Side, Enfield, England, EN2 0PW. ART EVIDENCE reviews the documentation of offers of works of art. It does not authenticate or value works and does not buy, sell or broker them.
Why we have your data
- A user uploaded documents about a work (for example a certificate, an invoice, a change of ownership, a mandate) to check an offer. We receive your data from that user, not from you.
- Typical data: name, role in the transaction, signature, contact details or addresses that appear in the documents.
- Legal basis: the legitimate interest of the user and of Clesidra Ltd in checking the documentation of an offer before a transaction, and in improving the assessment method through internal analysis (never commercial use).
Who sees it and for how long
- Only the people the user chooses to share the document with, and authorised staff of Clesidra Ltd for internal analysis; every access is logged. Data is stored encrypted on servers in the EU (Aruba S.p.A., Italy).
- Documents are deleted 12 months after the last activity on the dossier, or earlier if the user deletes it; encrypted backups are kept for 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask whether we hold your data and for a copy, rectification or erasure, restriction, and you can object to its use, including the internal analysis. Write to info@artevidence.com with your name and, if you know them, the work or the transaction concerned. We may ask you to confirm your identity and we answer within one month. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
