Terms — test phase
Version 2.2 · draft for the test phase. The final text will be published before the service opens.
The service
- ART EVIDENCE is run by Clesidra Ltd, company registered in England and Wales no. 06844555, registered office c/o Brian Paul Limited, 159a Chase Side, Enfield, England, EN2 0PW. Access is by invitation only, for testing.
- You are solely responsible for the data and documents you enter, towards ART EVIDENCE and towards third parties: you must be entitled to upload and share them, they must be accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you answer for any claim or dispute arising from them.
- Internal analysis of dossier content by Clesidra Ltd (see the Privacy notice) is part of the service: registration requires accepting it. If you later object to it, your dossiers are excluded from it at once and your account is closed after 14 days, during which you can download your data; this counts as withdrawal from the service.
- If you upload documents naming other people, you can point them to the page "If you are named in a document".
- The service is for adults (18 or over) acting in a professional or collecting capacity.
- During the test phase do not upload real documents or personal data of third parties: use invented or anonymised material only.
- The service may change or be interrupted and test data may be deleted at any time.
- The two judgments never establish whether a work can be sold, nor the legal validity of ownership, titles or mandates.
What you need to know
- If you upload data about other people (for example owners or intermediaries), you must be entitled to do so and you are responsible for informing them that ART EVIDENCE processes it, including the internal use.
- ART EVIDENCE makes encrypted backups every month and keeps them for 12 months, to restore the service and to reconstruct a dossier when needed.
- ART EVIDENCE reviews the documentation of dossiers: it does not authenticate, attribute or value works of art, and does not buy, sell or broker them.
- Clesidra Ltd, which runs ART EVIDENCE, may consult the content of dossiers (work data, declarations, documents, requests, decisions and assessments), including data about other people that you upload, for internal analysis to improve the service and the assessment method.
- This access is reserved to authorised staff with two-step verification; every consultation is logged. Contents stay encrypted and are decrypted only when consulted: we make no clear copies.
- We do not use this content for commercial purposes: we do not sell it, disclose it to third parties, or use it to contact you or others, or for brokerage activities, ours or of other companies.
Illegal content, reports and complaints
- Do not upload or share illegal content, including forged documents or documents you know to be false, or content that facilitates fraud or money laundering.
- To report content you think is illegal, or to complain about how we handled a report or about a decision on your account or content, use the page Report content (no account needed) or write to info@artevidence.com.
- We review every report promptly. If content is illegal we remove it or suspend the dossier and may end access to the service; we tell the person who reported the outcome. You can appeal a decision from the same page, quoting the reference: we will review it again and give you reasons.
- Person responsible for these matters: Roberto Marchetti.
