ART EVIDENCE

Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding ART EVIDENCE

1. Why use ART EVIDENCE rather than a folder and an ordinary AI tool?

Back to index

2. What role does artificial intelligence play?

The ART EVIDENCE AI reads the documents you upload in any format (PDF, photos, scans, screenshots), extracts the information and enters it in the file; it also consults public stolen art databases and online sources. Every piece of information enters as a proposal, showing where it comes from, and counts only after you confirm it. The judgments are then calculated by explicit, documented rules, not generated by an AI model.

3. Does ART EVIDENCE authenticate, attribute or value works?

No. It examines only the documentation: what there is, what is missing and what does not match. It does not authenticate or attribute works and does not give valuations or prices.

4. Does ART EVIDENCE check ownership or the right to sell?

It checks whether ownership, mandates and the chain of intermediaries up to the owner are documented and consistent with each other. It does not establish their legal validity: every report states this. For that you need a lawyer.

Analysis and reports

5. How are the documents assessed?

Two separate judgments, each with its reasons: one on the documentation of the work, one on the documents needed to continue with the offer.

A dossier can also be suspended by whoever manages it, with a reason that appears in the report. Method and limits

6. Does a green report mean I can go ahead and buy?

No. Green concerns the documentation only. It is not a purchase recommendation, an opinion on the price or a guarantee that the offer is reliable. And the absence of points raised does not prove that the documents are genuine.

7. Does ART EVIDENCE check stolen art registers?

Yes, public stolen art databases and online sources: ART EVIDENCE records which source it consulted, when and with what outcome. You can add the searches you have made yourself, including in paid services. A search older than 30 days must be updated. No hit in the sources consulted does not mean the work is absent from every register.

8. What happens when new documents arrive?

The judgments are recalculated and you can issue a new report. The earlier report remains available, marked "previous version", with a link to the newer one.

9. Can a report change over time?

An issued report does not change. With the same data, on the same date and with the same version of the rules, the result is always the same. It changes if the documents or the decisions on the points raised change, if time passes (some items depend on a date), or if the rules are updated. Every report states its date and the version of the rules used.

10. Can I share the report with clients or professionals, for instance in a negotiation or with my lawyer?

Yes. Participants in the dossier see it on the platform; anyone else receives a link tied to their email address, opened with a verification code and valid until a date you choose. The report is dated, cannot be edited and states its own limits: it is a documentary picture to support discussion, not an opinion on authenticity, value or legal validity. See an example report

Collaboration and confidentiality

11. Does the proponent need to register?

No. You send a request with a link: the proponent uploads the documents without an account and receives automatic reminders. The files go straight into your dossier, attached to the work.

12. Who can access my documents?

Other users: they see only what you share, document by document.

Clesidra Ltd: it may consult dossiers only for internal analysis aimed at improving the service and the assessment method, through authorised staff with two-step verification and with every access logged; never for commercial use or brokerage.

The files are stored encrypted, each with its own key. Privacy notice

13. Can I transfer a dossier?

Yes, to a participant in the dossier, who must accept. The transfer does not widen anyone's access, and active external links are revoked.

14. How long do you keep the data?

A dossier inactive for a year is deleted, after an email notice 30 days earlier: if you want to keep it, just open it. Issued reports are kept for 6 years. You can download all your data at any time. Privacy notice
